About the product

The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around — and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he’s been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance or lose his dream forever.

What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exactly did the Godslayer slay that went by the name of god? And what is the mysterious problem he now seeks help in solving?

The answers await in Weep, but so do more mysteries—including the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo’s dreams. How did he dream her before he knew she existed? And if all the gods are dead, why does she seem so real?

Welcome to Weep.

    One of the best

Definitely on my top 5 fantasy books.

Beyond brilliant! How can a mind conjure such a world and characters, give them life, make them as real as I feel myself. Laini Taylor has definitely won me completely over with this one. I’ve loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy but this is a whole other level of amazing. There’s some resemblance between the two series maybe I’m not imagining a connection it really exists, but let’s put that aside and focus on this masterpiece. The prose is so lyric it gives life to it all, the emotions so vivid like colours, the moments and realities so human albeit so fantastically not.

This is such an imaginative book. The prose is beautiful and the feel of it is so enchanting.

Lazlo Strange, our Strange The Dreamer, who collects fairy tales and lives with his head in books and in dreams, is an amazing character, who we see grow in so many ways during this story. He’s good and kind, brave, timid, a storyteller, and definitely a dreamer, the best kind, the ones that believe magic is real that life can be better and brighter. He dreams of a fantastical city, one who was shut down from the world and its name erased from minds and paper 15 years ago. And, one day when he was all but hopeless the city comes for him.

However, Weep, the city of Lazlo’s dreams is suffering, it’s full of hate and despair because 200 years ago when they were cut off from the world something happened that changed them forever and now Lazlo hopes to help them, but many…
