About the product

From the New York Times-bestselling author of The Atlas Six comes Twelfth Knight, a grumpy/sunshine YA romantic comedy and coming of age story. Featuring gorgeous inside cover artwork.

Viola and Jack do not get along.

Popular Jack Orsino is the worst Student Body President Viola Reyes has ever seen, and his lackadaisical attitude is just one more thing on Vi’s long list of things to be annoyed about.

Her only escape? The online role-playing game Twelfth Knight – where she creates a masculine alter-ego in order to be taken seriously in the gaming world.

When a football injury leads Jack to start playing Twelfth Knight too, their two worlds are set to collide. And as it becomes increasingly difficult for Vi to hide her true identity, Jack might just be falling for her offline . . .

    Love it so much!!

Not only is this Illumicrate edition absolutely gorgeous (everything from the dust jacket, the sprayed edges, the naked hardcover to the end papers), this book is also truly amazing to read.

Vi Reyes is kinda giving me Kat Stratford vibes. Obviously, she doesn't drive into an as*holes car with the word "Oops", but I love the female rage she portrays. It's wonderful to see a woman not people please her way through life.

This book got me out of a 6 month reading slump, and I was so freaking happy that I found it! It pulled me into the story right away, which was exactly the feeling I missed.

The storyline is amazing and kinda unexpected. I love that it subverts the typical expectations for this genre.

The romance is slow burn and starts pretty late in the book. So it's not a typical rom-com. Nevertheless I love the developing relationships in the book between the characters, not just the FMC and MMC.

I wish we'd gotten to see Vi and Jack happy together for a little bit longer. At the same time, I know we didn't miss much, as we've gotten to know both characters very well individually.

I was just hoping for some kind of epilogue of the characters being together further down the road to see how their relationship develops, maybe find out what university Vi is planning to attend, see if they have longer term potential.

Either way, I absolutely love this book and it's characters. It gave me the early 2000s Shakespeare retelling vibes I was hoping for and so much more.

    I recently discovered Alexene Farol

I recently discovered Alexene Farol Folmuth / Olivie Blake’s books and have been devouring them. So when I discovered there was an Illumicrate version of Twelfth Knight I was ecstatic! This is arguably one of my favorite Illumicrate editionss

    — specifically the hard cover design imprinted on the book. As I was reading, I kept taking off the dust jacket to stare at our protagonists and the gorgeous art, and eventually just left the dust jacket off. And Twelfth Knight as a book does not disappoint! It’s exactly what you want from a Shakespeare retelling/spin-off. I highly recommend Alexene Farol Follmuth, Illumicrate, and Twelfth Knight! You won’t regret your purchase, and will end up showing off this gorgeous edition to all your friends.
