About the product

The Lotus Empire brings Tasha Suri’s acclaimed Burning Kingdoms trilogy to a heart–stopping close. As an ancient magic returns to Ahiranya and threatens its very foundations, Empress Malini and priestess Priya will stop at nothing to save their kingdoms—even if it means they must destroy each other.

Malini has claimed her rightful throne as the empress of Parijatdvipa, just as the nameless gods prophesied. Now, in order to gain the support of the priesthood who remain loyal to the fallen emperor, she must consider a terrible Claim her throne and burn in order to seal her legacy—or find another willing to take her place on the pyre.

Priya has survived the deathless waters and now their magic runs in her veins. But a mysterious yaksa with flowering eyes and a mouth of thorns lies beneath the waters. The yaksa promises protection for Ahiranya. But in exchange, she needs a sacrifice. And she's chosen Priya as the one to offer it.

Two women once entwined by fate now stand against each other. But when an ancient enemy rises to threaten their world, Priya and Malini will find themselves fighting together once more – to prevent their kingdoms, and their futures, from burning to ash.

Arrived mostly without damage, nice and simple edition

The book itself arrived without damage, but sadly the signed bookplate was put into the book in a way that creased it. The series has a simpler edition compared to newer Illumicrate stuff which makes sense considering when the first book was released. I do still love simpler designs, Girls of Paper and Fire is one of my favorite by Illumicrate, however with this one I would've liked the dust cover spines to have a bit more put into them. Maybe a bit of foiling? Just again for comparison, Girls of Paper and Fire are also more simple, but the spines are some of my favorite on the entire shelf. That being said, I still really like these editions and I always appreciate when book box companies decide to go with sapphic book picks.

    Nice, relatively simple edition

The book arrived well packaged without any damages except for the signed book plate that sadly was put into the book in a way that got it creased, which should hopefully work itself out over time. While the edition has to fit the previous books in the series by Illumicrate, which I appreciate, compared to newer editions its a bit too simple for a special edition. I do actually like simple designs, however, I think the dust cover spine could've been a bit more... fancy? To compare, I also own the Girls of Paper and Fire editions by Illumicrate and those I really do love. While they're also more so on the simple side when it comes to their designs, I really love especially their spines. Overall I still really like these editions.

    The book (contents) itself is

The book (contents) itself is wonderful, but quality wise it's below what I'm used to from Illumicrate (which is okay because it's also one of their cheaper books).
