Starbright subscription shipping:

Boxes ship quarterly in February, May, August and November, starting from February 2025. All our boxes ship towards the end of the month, so your May box would usually start shipping in the last week of May.

About the product

Starbright is Illumicrate’s new quarterly book-only science fiction subscription, launching in 2025. As a company we’ve always been big fans of science fiction, having included many in our Illumicrate monthly subscription over the years, and we’re thrilled to give the genre space to shine with a dedicated sci-fi subscription!

Starbright subscription boxes feature newly released science fiction titles with exclusive customisations. The subscription is be priced at £20 + shipping and VAT (where applicable). The subscription is quarterly (February, May, August and November) and shipping worldwide from our UK fulfilment centre.

  • What is Starbright?

    Starbright Science Fiction is our quarterly book-only science fiction subscription. 

    Starbright Science Fiction joined our subscription family in 2025, offering an exclusively-customised hardback edition of a new or upcoming science fiction title. We feature both new and established authors from within the science fiction genre, and our picks may be digitally or hand-signed by the author, or include a signed bookplate.

    Starbright ships once every quarter -- in each of February, May, August, and November. 

    Our featured books for Starbright Science Fiction are intended for adult audiences, with the occasional young adult (YA) title, and can include: On-planet or off-planet adventures; Hard or soft science fiction genres; Space operas; Artificial and/or extra-terrestrial life; Sentient spaceships; Time-travel... and more!

    We announce our Starbright Science Fiction themes approximately a month in advance, with any applicable content warnings, so you can decide whether you would like to receive it or skip the month.

  • How do I keep updated on Strabright news?

    We post all of our announcements on our social media accounts, as well as on the news page of our website, and also send out various newsletters.

  • I've changed my mind, can I have a refund?

    If you have ordered a subscription product (a box or book) and this is not yet in pre-shipment (we have not yet sent out the emails check your address), then we can usually cancel and refund this for you. We do not issue refunds if you have a 3 or 6 month pre-paid subscription.

    If you have ordered a single purchase item or something from our shop, as long as your order hasn't yet gone into pre-shipment we can usually refund it for you. To cancel your order,  please fill in our Customer Support Form or contact us directly at support@illumicrate.com.

  • Do you ship to my country and how much is it?

    Yes, we can ship to almost every country! There are a few exceptions, currently, we cannot ship to: Belarus, the Canary Islands, China, El Salvador, Guadalupe, Haiti, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine. This is because our shipping company is unable to deliver in these countries, sorry!

    You can see a full list of shipping rates for our products here. These shipping costs do NOT include customs and other taxes that may be due within your country. All customs and other taxes are the responsibility of the customer.

    If you are based in the EU, VAT is included in your order. You can see our EU VAT rates here.

    If you are based in Australia, a 10% sales tax will be added to your order at checkout. 

    If you are based in the US and Canada, your monthly subscription ships from our US warehouse. You can see a list of shipping rates for the Illumicrate subscription for US and Canadian subscribers here.
