We’re all book lovers here, and we all know that feeling of absolutely devouring a book we’re obsessed with. But what if we meant this…. literally?
Our chosen book this month is an adult fantasy horror standalone by a debut author. A secret society, hidden within the human world, where the members feast on books as food and where daughters are seen as commodities to be traded around and bred. After growing up secluded in one of the six society families and married off twice, a mother is on the run trying to hide her son’s terrible secret. Instead of eating books he feeds on minds, a rare genetic variance that horrifies and scares their community. The entire Illumicrate team was completely enthralled by this imaginative read, and we knew straight away this was the book we wanted to showcase for September.
