We are hiring an Operations Assistant for Illumicrate!
The role will include managing inventory and customer orders, as well as liaising with our third-party partners such as our fulfilment centres and shipping companies. We’re looking for someone with a curious mindset who can help improve efficiency, and with an affinity for operational systems or a willingness to learn.
Key details:
- 35 hours a week, Monday - Friday, flexible on daily working hours
- Occasional weekend work may be required
- This role is open to UK residents or those with the right to work in the UK only
- Annual salary of £26,000

Knowledge/Experience required:
- We are looking for someone who is passionate about detail, accuracy and publishing, and who has experience in similar operational, ecommerce and/or customer service roles (online/remote customer service is desirable)
- Proficient computer literacy skills, particularly with onboarding new systems and using Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information both to customers and to partners within in the business
- Willing to show initiative and have good instincts, because you won’t always know the answer
- Great organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a close and dedicated team
- Patience, empathy and good problem solving
- Interest in the book community
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day running of operations including sales and exports
- Collaborate with our fulfilment centres, providing product information and ensuring inventory is accurate
- Liaise with our shipping companies to ensure products ship on time
- Answer customer queries in regards to waitlists and sales
- Resolve operational issues accurately and effectively, raising support tickets with external parties where necessary
- Liaise with our website developers and platform account managers about any issues
- Update the website with new products, news articles and theme updates
- Work well with the wider operations team
- Collaborate with and update other departments, including the creative and support teams
