We are incredibly excited to introduce Starbright, Illumicrate’s new quarterly book-only science fiction subscription, launching in 2025!
As a company we’ve always been big fans of science fiction, having included many in our Illumicrate monthly subscription over the years, and we’re thrilled to give the genre space to shine with a dedicated sci-fi subscription!
The subscription will feature newly released science fiction titles with exclusive customisations. The subscription will be priced at £20 + shipping and VAT (where applicable), and the first box will be shipping in February 2025. The subscription will be quarterly, with subsequent boxes shipping in May, August, and November 2025 and will ship worldwide from our UK fulfilment centre.
We look forward to including books from across the broad range the science fiction genre has to offer, from the accessible to the truly ambitious, reflective of our own broad taste in science fiction. Some of our favourites that reflect the types of books you’ll see in Starbright include: A Memory Called Empire, Ancillary Justice, The Fifth Season, Wayfarers, Gideon the Ninth, Iron Widow, The Space Between Worlds, Some Desperate Glory, The Murderbot Diaries, Winter’s Orbit, The Seep, Monk & Robot, This Is How You Lose the Time War, Crownchasers, The First Sister, and Project Hail Mary.
A waitlist for the Starbright subscription is now active, and you can join it here. Once the Starbright February 2025 theme has been revealed we will begin to invite people on the waitlist to subscribe, in the order they joined the waitlist.

FAQs
Will you continue to include science fiction in the main monthly Illumicrate subscription?
Our Illumicrate monthly subscription will not contain science fiction books from 2025.
When will the February Starbright theme be revealed and when will the subscription go on sale?
The theme will be revealed in January 2025, and will go on sale to the waitlist then.
What will the renewal date for Starbright be?
The Starbright renewal date will be the 3rd of the month (3rd February for the February box, 3rd May for the May box, and so on).
When should Starbright ship each month?
As with all our subscriptions, they will ship towards the end of the month. Starbright subscriptions will ship in February, May, August and November.
Will the subscription have skips?
Yes, Starbright will have the same skip policy as our existing subscriptions. You can read about our skip policy here.
